Liked their food so much we came back for a second time:

    - tea leaf salad (better than Rangoon Ruby)
    - chicken with rice noodles
    - plum wine (!)

... and the best of all ...

    - goat stew !!

We ordered the tea leaf salad with the chili peppers on the side. Salad was big and perfectly shared between 2 people. They use all cabbage for their salad so it doesn't get soggy like lettuce according to the nice waiter. Service was great!

We also had the aroma chicken and it was juicy. I was thinking it would be a crunchy karrage type of chicken but it's lightly fried with a soy sauce with cilantro & green onions. These 2 dishes were enough to have us stuffed.

We will be back for the goat stew to try for next time!

i had tea leaf salad to go. it was delicious. i liked how they were generous on fresh thai peppers which added to the needed flavoring to the salad, it wouldn't be as good without it though. i liked how they have option of having it over lettuce or cabbage.

I'm in love with Kyusu! This is definitely my favorite Burmese restaurant to date! Their Original Tea Leaf Salad is amazing! It's a mix of pickled Burmese tea leaves, fried beans, fried garlic, peanuts, sesame seeds, sesame oil, dried shrimp, tomato, and shredded cabbage, and hot red chili. When they bring it to your table, they'll mix it right in front of you! It's so delicious and refreshing! The hot red chili comes on the side, and good thing it does because it's HOT. They may be tiny, but they pack a punch. Eat with caution.

For noodle dishes, I love getting the Kauk Swe Thoke. This is a Burmese Style Noodle with no soup. It has flat flour noodles served with chicken, cooked with onion, garlic, and tomato fish sauce, garlic oil, chili oil, shredded cabbage, cilantro, lemon, tamarind, and roasted yellow pea powder. It's so flavorful! The Nan Gyi Thoke is very similar to the Kauk Swe Thoke but comes with thick rice noodles instead. Though I prefer the flat noodles, the thick noodles are great as well!

The Shan Ngar Chet is a Shan Style Fish with Herbs. The tilapia is marinated with turmeric, fermented bean powder, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, green onion, cilantro, and herbs and served in a clay pot. The flavor is bold, so it's good that it comes with rice.

I also like their Curry Aroma Chicken. The chicken is marinated with curry powder, sesame oil, and black pepper. It's deep fried and tossed with homemade sweet and sour sauce, dried chili bits, cilantro, and green onions. I'd recommend this dish for someone who may be trying Burmese food for the first time and doesn't want to be too adventurous. I'd say this is a safe bet while still being a delicious dish! Though there's a chili pepper next to this item on the menu, it's not too spicy at all!

So far, I haven't had anything here that I didn't like! Highly recommend!

I have had Indian, Thai, Malaysian, Sri Lankan and Indonesian curries but somehow never tasted Burmese food! It is unique and distinctive.
We had the tea leaf salad- savory with fermented tea leaves and peanuts etc. I liked it but was missing a sweet element in this- probably I am used to Thai papaya or Indian Bhel!!
The main course was a thick noodles chicken dish with chili, cabbage, tomato fish sauce and roasted pea powder- new flavor combo for my palate but quite pleasant. The grainy coating on the noodle took some time to get used to.

For dessert, we tried the semolina cake with ice cream- 5 stars for the coconut flavor and texture of this dessert.
